Major Md Hashim b Hussein took up his appointment as the new OC Boys' Wing on the lst January 1978.

He was born in 1947 in Johore Bahru and had much of his primary education there. Later he was given a place in the Malay College Kuala Kangsar to continue his secondary education. He was there from 1960 to 1962, after which he was selected to join the elite Boys' Wing.

During his education in the Boys' Wing he was active in both academic and sporting fields. As an active sportsman he participated in a variety of games including football, sepak takraw, athletics and excelled in boxing, of which he was elected as the company captain because of his prowess in the ring.

After the successful completion of his Cambridge School Certificate he joined the Cadet Wing. On being commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, he was posted to the 9 Royal Malay in Johore Bahru. He was there for twenty three months after which he was posted to the Headquarters Land Forces East Malaysia (HQLFEM) over in Kuching, Sarawak. His appointment there was as a Staff Officer Grade Three.

After holding various appointments including a two year tour as an instructor in the RMC, he left in 1975 to attend the Infantry Officer Advance Course at Fort Banning, Georgia, USA. Upon his return he took up the post of Second in command of the 18 Royal Malay being responsible for the formation of the battalion. Later he was posted to the HO 9 Malaysian Infantry Brigade as Brigade Major, a post he held until January 1978 when he came back to his alma mater as the OC Boys Wing.

When asked why he chose the Army as a career, he felt it was the challenging life the army offers and his love for the outdoor life. He goes on to say that it is a noble profession as it expects every soldier to give his best towards the profession. Moreover he said that during his time, trouble was brewing in Vietnam and together with the increasing intensity of the confrontation spurred him on to join the Army.

When asked about his impression of Boys' Wing at present, he said there was a general improvement in the facilities offered. There are also more qualified teachers at present.

On the other hand he had noticed that the discipline and turnout of the Puteras had deteriorated. He immediately launched a rejuvenating programme in Boys' Wing, where upon discipline was considerably tightened and the general turnout was closely watched. The results were obvious, - the entire Boys' Wing turned over a new leaf within days. This made the administration in Boys' Wing much smoother and reverted the level of discipline prevalent in his days. In addition, he feels that he has many more commitments and would like to do much more for the Boys' Wing.

Touching on ragging, his view is to condone the orientation which is meant to help the new Puteras adjust themselves to the trend of life in the College in the shortest possible time. With ragging the Puteras tend to get out of hand unlike during his time when ragging was ‘clean’.

Major Hashim is married with 3 children. He is willing to serve in the Army as long as his service is required. During his leisure time, he among other things does a lot of reading especially on the autobiographies of war leaders, assembling model kits and also horse riding.

Finally with air of pride so typical of an ex-putera he added that the RMC has done so much for all Puteras. Elaborating on this he said Puteras are firstly subjected to leadership training and character building, secondly towards community living, thirdly very excellent facilities are provided here, fourthly they are trained to be independent and self-reliant last but not least to be resourceful and full of ingenuity. Such qualities said Major Hashim are so much lacking in today’s youth although they are so indispensible to the future leaders in their efforts to build up a successful nation.

Lastly, on behalf of the Puteras, we would like to thank the OC for all that he has done for us. He is indeed seen us through thick and thin, he thinks like we do, feels like we do, he laughs with us but above all he has brought us up, cared so much for us. All the officers have earned our highest respect, but as far as the OC is concerned he is unique for he is not only respected by the Puteras but also the Puteras have loved him, and still do, as the “Adopted Father of Boys’ Wing”.

Kenaikan Pangkat Mej Gen Nazri C Coy

Majlis Pemakaian Pangkat Pegawai Kanan TD disempurnakan Panglima Tentera Darat (PTD), Jen Datuk Zamrose Mohd Zain (C Coy) di Pejabat PTD pada 21 Jul 2020.

Brig Jen Dato’ Nazri Abu Bakar (C Coy) dinaikkan pangkat ke Mej Jen serta memegang jawatan Ketua Pengarah Jabatan Arah Rekod dan Pencen (JRP) MK ATM.

 

MAJLIS SERAH TERIMA TUGAS PANGLIMA 21 GGK

JOHOR BAHRU, 20 Julai 20 - DYMM Sultan Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar berkenan menyempurnakan Majlis Serah Terima Tugas Panglima 21 Gerup Gerak Khas (21 GGK) di antara Lt Jen Datuk Hasan bin Ali dengan Mej Jen Datuk Jamaluddin bin Jambi, KS Am Markas 21 GGK yang berlangsung di Istana Bukit Serene, Johor Bahru, Johor.
Berangkat sama, DYAM Mej Jen Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim, Tunku Mahkota Johor.
Majlis dimulakan dengan acara menandatangani Sijil Serah Terima Tugas dan Penyerahan Tongkat Kuasa disaksikan oleh DYMM Sultan Johor dan Panglima Tentera Darat, Jen Datuk Zamrose bin Mohd Zain.

Perbarisan Perintah Ulung PTD Ke-28.

Panglima Tentera Darat, Jen Datuk Zamrose Mohd Zain telah menyampaikan Perintah Ulung dan amanatnya bertempat di Padang Kawad Pusat Latihan Asas Tentera Darat setelah dilantik menjadi PTD Ke-28 pada 11 Jun 2020.

JENERAL Datuk Zamrose Mohd Zain

JENERAL Datuk Zamrose Mohd Zain dilantik menjadi Panglima Tentera Darat (PTD) ke-28 bagi menggantikan Jeneral Tan Sri Ahmad Hasbullah Mohd Nawawi yang bersara wajib.

Zamrose dilahirkan pada 22 September 1962 di Seremban, Negeri Sembilan dan memulakan karier dengan menyertai latihan sebagai Pegawai Kadet pada tahun 1980 sebelum ditauliahkan sebagai Leftenan Muda pada 24 Januari 1981.

Batalion Kelapan Rejimen Askar Melayu Diraja (8 RAMD) adalah unit pertama perkhidmatan beliau di bidang ketenteraan.

Sepanjang 39 tahun usia perkhidmatannya beliau menyandang pelbagai jawatan penting di dalam Tentera Darat Malaysia (TDM) dan jawatan terakhir sebelum ini adalah Panglima Medan Timur Tentera Darat.

Majlis Serah Terima Tugas Panglima Tentera Darat (PTD) diadakan di Auditorium Wisma Pertahanan di Kuala Lumpur antara Ahmad Hasbullah dan Zamrose disaksikan Menteri Kanan Pertahanan, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob dan Panglima Angkatan Tentera (PAT), Jeneral Tan Sri Affendi Buang.

Terdahulu, majlis pemakaian pangkat itu disempurnakan Ismail Sabri disaksikan oleh PAT dan Panglima-panglima Perkhidmatan.

Jeneral Datuk Zamrose bin Mohd Zain telah dilahirkan di Seremban, Negeri Sembilan pada 22 September 1962. Beliau mendapat pendidikan awal di Sekolah Kebangsaan Tunku Besar Tampin sebelum melanjutkan pelajaran menengah di Sek Menengah Kebangsaan Tunku Besar Tampin mulai Tingkatan 1 hingga 3 dan seterusnya ke Maktab Tentera Diraja (MTD) pada tahun 1978. Kerjaya beliau dalam Angkatan Tentera Malaysia bermula apabila menjalani latihan sebagai Pegawai Kadet di Maktab Tentera Diraja (MTD) pada tahun 1980. Beliau seterusnya ditauliahkan sebagai Leftenan Muda dan menyertai Batalion Kelapan Rejimen Askar Melayu Diraja sebagai unit pertamanya pada 24 Januari 1981.

Di sepanjang perkhidmatannya, Jeneral Datuk Zamrose bin Mohd Zain telah diberi kepercayaan memegang pelbagai jawatan penting di peringkat Tentera Darat mahupun Angkatan Tentera Malaysia sebagai pemerintah, staf dan jurulatih. Antara perjawatan yang disandang termasuklah Pegawai Memerintah, Batalion Pertama Rejimen Askar Melayu Diraja (2002-2003), Ketua Staf, Markas Briged Kesebelas Infantri Malaysia (2003-2005), Juruarah di Maktab Turus Angkatan Tentera (2005-2006), Komandan Kolej Tentera Darat (2006-2008), Panglima Briged Keempat Infantri Malaysia (Mekanize) (2009-2012), Ketua Staf Am Markas Medan Tentera Darat (2012-2014), Asisten Ketua Staf Operasi dan Latihan, Markas Tentera Darat, Cawangan OPLAT (2014-2015), Panglima Divisyen Ketiga Infantri Malaysia (2015-2016), Ketua Tim Pemerhati Midanao 11 Filipina (2016-2017) dan Asisten Ketua Staf Perkhidmatan Anggota, Markas Angkatan Tentera Malaysia, Bahagian Perkhidmatan Anggota (2017-2018), Panglima Medan Timur Tentera Darat (2018-2020). Pada tanggal 11 Jun 2020, atas kecemerlangan yang ditunjukkan, Jeneral Datuk Zamrose bin Mohd Zain telah diperkenankan oleh Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong untuk dinaikkan ke pangkat Jeneral dan seterusnya menjawat jawatan Panglima Tentera Darat ke-28.

Dalam menentukan kecemerlangan pendidikan dan pengetahuannya, Jeneral Datuk Zamrose bin Mohd Zain telah mengikuti beberapa kursus/pengajian di dalam dan juga di luar negara. Antara kursus utama yang dihadiri adalah Diploma Pengajian Strategik dan Pertahanan, Universiti Malaya (1996), Sarjana Kajian Dasar dan Keselamatan, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (2001), Managing Defence in a Democracy Course di United Kingdom (2007) dan National Defence College (ndc) di Thailand (2008-2009).

Sebagai pengiktirafan terhadap khidmat bakti yang telah dicurahkan kepada negara, Jeneral Datuk Zamrose bin Mohd Zain telah menerima pelbagai Darjah Kebesaran, Pingat dan Anugerah antaranya Darjah Panglima Setia Di-Raja (PSD) yang membawa gelaran Datuk (Persekutuan), Darjah Cemerlang Seri Melaka (DCSM) yang membawa gelaran Datuk Wira (Melaka), Panglima Setia Angkatan Tentera (PSAT), Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) yang membawa gelaran Dato’ (Pahang) dan Darjah Dato’ Paduka Negeri Sembilan (DPNS) yang membawa gelaran Dato’ (Negeri Sembilan).

Jeneral Datuk Zamrose bin Mohd Zain telah mendirikan rumah tangga dengan Datin Zainuriah binti Hj Mustapha, seorang suri rumah dan dikurniakan 6 orang cahaya mata iaitu 5 perempuan dan seorang lelaki. Waktu lapang beliau sering digunakan untuk membaca dan mengembara manakala sukan kegemarannya adalah golf.
