KURNIAAN DARJAH KEBESARAN

PUTRAJAYA, 17 Ogos 2020 - Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah telah berkenan menyempurnakan Istiadat Menghadap dan Istiadat Pengurniaan Darjah Kebesaran, Bintang dan Pingat Persekutuan sempena Sambutan Ulang Tahun Hari Keputeraan Rasmi KDYMM SPB Yang di-Pertuan Agong tahun 2020 di Balairung Seri, Istana Melawati, Putrajaya.

Pada istiadat yang berlangsung pagi tadi, Panglima Angkatan Tentera, Jeneral Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Hj Affendi bin Buang TUDM telah dikurniakan Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Mangku Negara (P.M.N) yang membawa gelaran ‘Tan Sri’.

Turut dianugerahkan adalah Panglima Tentera Darat, Jeneral Datuk Zamrose bin Mohd Zin dan Panglima Tentera Udara, Jeneral Dato’ Sri Ackbal bin Hj Abdul Samad TUDM yang masing-masing dikurniakan Darjah Kebesaran Panglima Setia Mahkota (P.S.M) yang membawa gelaran ‘Tan Sri’.

Seluruh warga OP78 mengucapkan setinggi-tinggi tahniah kepada Panglima Angkatan Tentera, Jeneral Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Hj Affendi bin Buang TUDM (OP78 FCoy), Panglima Tentera Darat, Jeneral Tan Sri Zamrose bin Mohd Zin (OP78 CCoy) dan Panglima Tentera Udara, Jeneral Tan Sri Dato' Sri Ackbal bin Hj Abdul Samad TUDM (OP78 FCoy) atas penganugerahan Darjah Kebesaran ini.

Juga tahniah kepada Laksamana Madya Dato Aris Adi Tan bin Abdullah (OP78 HCoy) yang di anugerahkan pingat PJN.

Visited Tan Sri Gen. Hashim (ex Chief of Army) with my father at Hospital Angkatan Tentera Tuanku Mirzan today. Tan Sri was our OC at Royal Military College when I was there, he was only a Major then. My father served as Chief Instructor (CI) for both the Cadet and Boys wing of the Military College and he and Tan Sri were close. They have known each other since 1967 serving the 1st Malay Regiment. 

Tan Sri was the 'adoptive father figure' to all of us in college, a firm and no nonsense OC while fair in discharging discipline to all of us, one OC none of us will ever forget but we all are highly appreciative of his guidance. Today 4 'Boys' under his charge holds the highest position in the Malaysian Armed Forces; The Chief of Armed Forces Malaysia, The Chief of Army, The Chief of Air Force are from my batch OP78 and the Chief of Navy was my junior from batch OP79. No one can be prouder than Tan Sri Gen Hashim on the achievements of his boys of 42 years ago to where they are today.

Was with my fellow Royal Military College mate Real Admiral OP Khalid Jaafar at the launching of Hari Kebangsaan in SUK Ipoh. We've known each other for over 42 yrs now but memories of military college life seems fresh like yesterday.

Those were the days, growing up and learning, sharing joy and lots of pain together.. LOL
